]]> This tiny bird flits around at the top of the canyon rim, hunting for dinner and alights on a perfect perch. The perch is a bone resting in the sandy soil with ladybugs crawling on it and the wren lightly lands on the bone to enjoy his freshly caught dinner. These tiny birds are so active and flying from place to place so its a brief moment to stop and enjoy his feast.

]]> Anyone who has been around Blue and Gold Macaws for any length of time understands that they can be quite mischievous! They get that glint in their eye and look out! They are a bit like having a permanent two-year-old around!

They are also magnificent to watch in free flight! In the wild they hang out in lowland rainforests and savannas from eastern Panama to Brazil. They gather at fruiting trees and clay licks. Their call is quite loud!

These birds are technically known as Amazona barbadensis and are found in desert Caribbean areas. They are at the Near Threatened level of conservation.
